It is crucial to recognize the political implications of climate change for contemporary societies. This seminar seeks to investigate the intersection of climate change and political science by critically engaging with recent research on the potential impacts and risks of climate change on political systems and social structures.
Theoretical debates at the global level, alongside case studies from regional contexts—including those from the Global South—will be examined to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of key issues and challenges in this field.
In this seminar, students will engage in a rotational reading and discussion of the assigned texts. Presenters will provide a comprehensive summary of the readings, while the rest of the class is required to submit a comment paper prior to each session.
During the seminar, discussions will focus on the key issues and questions raised by the presenters and comment papers. If deemed necessary, students may be divided into smaller groups to facilitate more in-depth discussion and analysis.
In class, group work will be organized based on individual interests, and a group report will be presented on the final day.

気候変動は政治のあり方に影響を与えるか。それはどのようにしてか。気候変動によって社会は不安定化するのか。本演習では、気候変動が政治システムや社会構造に与える影響、に関する近年の研究論文を取り上げ、気候変動と政治学の接点を探る。
加えて、グローバルなレベルでの理論的な議論と、グローバル・サウスと呼ばれる地域の状況からの具体的事例を検討することで、この分野における重要な問題と課題について視野を深めたい。

本演習では、指定された文献を輪読しながら、各テーマについて討論する。報告担当者はテキストの内容報告および論点提出を行い、それ以外の受講生は事前にコメント・ペーパー（400字程度）を提出する。
各回、コメント・ペーパーや報告者論点などからいくつかの問題提起をふまえた全体討論を行う。 必要に応じて、より詳細な議論と分析を促すため、小グループに分かれて討論することもある。
授業後半では、個々の関心に応じてグループワークを行い、最終日にグループ報告を行う予定である。
