This seminar examines Chinese nationalism by reviewing changes in the official narrative of the Anti-Japanese War in China.The seminar welcomes international students, encouraging participants with diverse backgrounds to deepen their understanding of the regions they live in through literature study and discussions. Additionally, through group work, participants will aim to enhance their skills in literature research and presentations.
Sino–Japanese relations have repeatedly faced challenges, and in this process, constructed memories of war have shaped Chinese perceptions and generated corresponding nationalist sentiments. This seminar selects key works and academic articles, and through close reading and group work, seeks to clarify the “Japanese element” within Chinese nationalism.
Please note that the number of literature reports and the number of presenters each time will be determined by the number of participants and their interests, so please consider the class plan as a guide.Chinese may also be used when explaining Chinese materials, news, and background information.

本演習では、中国の公式ナラティブにおける抗日戦争の位置づけの変化を検討することを通じて、中国ナショナリズムを考察する。本演習は留学生の受講を歓迎しており、異なるバックグラウンドを持つ履修者同士が文献学習やディスカッションを通じて、自分たちの住む地域についての理解を深めていく。また、グループワークを通じて文献調査やプレゼンテーションのスキルを磨くことも目指す。

日中関係はしばしば困難に直面してきたが、その過程において形成されてきた戦争の記憶は、中国人の認識を揺さぶり、それに伴うナショナリズム感情を喚起してきた。本演習では、関連する代表的な著作および論文を取り上げ、文献学習とグループワークを通じて、中国ナショナリズムにおける「日本要素」を解明することを試みる。
なお、履修者の人数や関心によって文献報告の回数、毎回の報告者の数を決めるので、授業計画はその目安と考えてください。中国の資料・ニュース・背景事情を説明する時には中国語を使う場合がある。
