The objective of this seminar is to analyse and discuss contemporary Australian society and politics by reading literatures in English about Australian politics.
In Australia, the general election will be held in the first half of 2025. The main focus of the election is that if the Australian Labor Party led by Anthony Albanese, which had returned to power in May 2022 for the first time since September 2013, is re-elected. Another interesting point is the performance of the group of articulate professional women who obtained seats previously held safely by the Liberal Party and appeared to cause the realignment of Australia's party system in 2022. This seminar will be held after the election so we can look into the contemporary Australian society via literatures analysing the 2025 election.

オーストラリア政治に関する英語文献の講読を通じ，現代社会・政治について考える。
The objective of this seminar is to analyse and discuss contemporary Australian society and politics by reading literatures in English about Australian politics.
2025年前半には、オーストラリアの連邦総選挙が実施される。2022年5月の連邦総選挙において、8年9か月ぶりに政権に復帰したアンソニー・アルバニージー率いるオーストラリア労働党が、再選を果たすか注目される。もう一つの注目点は、2022年に躍進し無所属候補として当選を果たし、オーストラリアの政党制度を根本から変えたように思われる女性議員たちのパフォーマンスである。後期に設定されているこの演習は、当然選挙後に開講されるので、選挙結果の分析を通じてオーストラリアの現代社会を考察するような英語文献を読み、ともに考えていきたい。
