In this lecture, the aim is to learn about the reality of administration and regional revitalization through various local initiatives that tackle various challenges faced by the region and work hard to solve them.
Learn about the reality of administration and regional revitalization through various regional initiatives that tackle various challenges faced by the region and work towards solving them.
In each session, we will focus on discussions (group work) among students based on presentations from the participants. The presenters for each session (1 to several people) will be assigned during the first lecture.
In the spring semester, each participants examines what kind of initiatives are being taken by administration and local entities in the specific region of their interest, what kind of value it creates for society, and how it contributes to problem-solving.
In the fall semester, various issues faced by regions in our country are surveyed by theme based on examples of several regions that address institutional and environmental factors and those problems.
Participants prepare by researching reference materials and the web and give presentations on the themes assigned to them in both the spring and fall semesters.

地域が直面する様々な課題と、それらの課題解決に向けて果敢に取り組む様々な地域の取組を通じて、行政の実体と地方創生を学ぶ。
各回のゼミは、受講生からの発表をもとに学生同士の議論（グループワーク）を中心に進めることとし、各回の発表担当者（１～数名）は、初回の講義で割振りを行う。
春学期においては、各自が興味がある具体の地域を対象として、その地域において行政と地域主体などがどのような取組を行い、それが社会にどのような価値を生み出し、又は課題解決に役立っているのかを調べていく。
秋学期においては、我が国の地域が直面する問題と、制度的、環境的な要因、その問題に取り組むいくつかの地域の事例をもとに、様々な課題をテーマ別に横軸で概観する。
参加者は、春と秋のそれぞれに1つずつ割り振られるテーマについて、参考文献やWebで調べるなどを通じて準備をし、発表をしてもらう。
