This course aims to acquire the ability to discuss various topics with others from the legal perspective, using specific themes on international human rights law.
The development of international human rights law after WWII has been remarkable, which has influenced almost all the fields of international law. Nevertheless, general lectures on international law usually do not have enough time to deal with contents or surrounding problems of each and every human right, and tend to focus on institutional explanations alone.
In this course, participants discuss some topics either on concrete human rights that international human rights law secures to individuals of various attributions or on the relationship between specific themes and international human rights law. A book published last year provides such topics in each chapter. Through such a process, this course aims to complement general lectures and, above all, improve your ability to discuss with others constructively from the legal perspective.
In each class, one presenter will make a presentation on one chapter, followed by group discussions or discussions among all the participants under the direction of a facilitator student. The presenter not only summarizes the chapter but also, having done research on cited materials or recommended further readings, provides additional explanations, thereby finally showing his/her own opinion on the topics persuasively. This in turn leads to providing sufficient information for other participants to discuss the topic.

担当する章に関するレジュメを作成し、報告日の4日前までにCanvas LMSを通じて配布する。

各回で扱う章、報告者のレジュメ、全員のコメント（下記参照）に十分目を通した上で、当日の議論をリードする。また議論が停滞したときに議論を喚起するため、司会者自身が報告者に対して質問や批判を行えるよう十分な準備をしておく。
【毎回参加者全員がやること】
各回で扱う章を読み、必要に応じて報告者のレジュメを読んだ上で、各回の議題に対する自身の見解を書いたコメントを、授業日前日の正午までにCanvas LMSを通じて提出する。その他、疑問点や報告者に対する賛同・異論などを記載してもよい。

This course aims to acquire the ability to discuss various topics with others from the legal perspective, using specific themes on international human rights law.
第二次世界大戦後の国際人権法の発展は目覚ましく、今や国際法の大半の分野がその影響を受けていると言っても過言ではない。にもかかわらず、国際法の一般的講義においては、具体的な各人権の内容やそれらを巡る問題を詳細に扱う余裕がなく、制度的説明が中心となってしまいがちである。
本ゼミでは、国際人権法が様々な属性の個人に対して保障する具体的諸権利や、特定のテーマと国際人権法の関わりにつき、昨年刊行された書籍（小坂田裕子ほか（編）『アクティブラーニング国際人権法』）の各章で設定されている議題を全員で討論する。そうしたプロセスを通じて、上記のような一般的講義の不足を補うと同時に、何よりも、法的な観点から他者と建設的に議論する能力を養うことを目的とする。
各回とも、初めに1人の報告者が1つの章につき報告を行う。その際に報告者は、単にその章の内容を要約するだけではなく、本文中で参照されている資料や紹介されている文献を読んだりした上で補足的説明を行うことにより、最終的に、その章で設定されている議題につき自らの見解を説得的に提示する。これは翻って、他の受講生が同議題を検討するのに十分な程度の情報を提供することにつながる。その上で、司会者の学生による進行のもと、グループディスカッションや全体でのディスカッションを行う。
