Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to
①Understand and explain basic tourism concepts and destination marketing elements.
②Understand the DCOVA framework
③Able to apply statistics to solve business problems
The tourism industry is a foundation of the global economy and a significant industry that impacts a variety of sectors. In this course, by learning fundamental tourism statistics, student will deepen student understanding of industry health and dynamism through indicators such as visitor numbers, spending patterns, and market share. At the core of the course is the DCOVA framework, which promotes systematic decision-making through the collection, organization, visualization, and application of data. Through practical projects, student will cultivate analytical skills and develop the ability to support decision-making within the industry.

このコースを修了すると、学生は以下の能力を身につけることができます。
①観光概念と目的地マーケティング要素の理解と説明:
学生は、観光業界における基本的な概念や用語を理解し、それらを明確に説明できるようになります。
②DCOVAフレームワークの理解:
DCOVAフレームワークとは、観光業界におけるデータの収集、整理、分析、視覚化、アクション(Data, Collection, Organization, Visualization, and Action)のプロセスを指します。このフレームワークを理解することにより、学生はデータ駆動型の意思決定プロセスを学び、観光業界における戦略的な課題解決に役立つデータの扱い方を習得します。
③統計学を用いたビジネス問題の解決能力の獲得:
学生は統計学の基本的な原理や手法を学び、これらをビジネス上の問題を解決するために応用する能力を養います。観光業に特有の問題に対して、統計的手法(t-testなど)を使って有効な解決策を見出し、意思決定を支援するための分析能力を身につけます。
