備考/ NotesNotes |
The main objective of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of regulations on dominant digital platforms (big techs) like Google, Amazon or Apple. By the end of the course, students should know business models and strategies of big techs, problems from competition policy, and various regulatory approaches to big techs in order to eliminate competitive harms from their market power or gatekeeper power, keeping in mind that over-regulation might restrain innovation.
Coursework will be consisted of individual reading materials, presentation, and discussion at each session. Each student (or a group of students) will make a presentation about a topic related to the digital platform for half of the seminar time. The remaining half of the time will be used for discussion and/or to provide supplementary information regarding the topic of each session.
