Notes

【Course Objectives】

The main objective of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to gain a basic understanding of competition policy oriented regulations in digital age, especially focusing on global big tech companies like Google, Amazon or Apple. By the end of the course, students are expected to understand typical business models and strategies of big techs, various competition related problems, and how governments try to tackle with them to protect effective competition, keeping in mind that over-regulation might restrain innovation.

【Course Contents】

Coursework will be consisted of individual reading materials, presentation, and discussion at each session. Each student (or a group of students) will make a presentation about a topic on competition related problem in the digital age, followed by discussion in the classroom and/or to provide supplementary information regarding the topic of each session.
