This course will help you to:
(1) acquire a basic knowledge of the major world religions and their contemporary implications,
(2) develop academic skills, particularly in research, note-taking, and presentation skills, by working with fellow students;
(3) enhance your English language skills.
Languages:
The course will be conducted in both Japanese and simple English. Although you are encouraged to take notes and give presentations in English, you may use Japanese if necessary. Bilingual communication is expected during pair work sessions, whereas group discussions will be conducted in Japanese. Regardless of your level of English proficiency, you are welcome to join us.
Active learning:
This course places a strong emphasis on student autonomy. There will be very few lectures from the instructor, as the focus will be on you explaining what you have learned about your research topics. Each class involves working independently, in pairs, and in groups.
In-class tasks and assignments:
You will be assigned various student-centered tasks, including research note-taking, mind-mapping, and short presentations.
Research materials:
The instructor will provide an online list of research resources. Alternatively, you may search for research materials independently.

この授業の目標は以下の通りです。
(1)世界の主要な宗教、および関連する現代の諸問題について基礎知識を習得すること
(2)他の参加者との協働を通じて、リサーチ、ノートテイク、プレゼンテーションなどのアカデミック・スキルを向上させること
(3) 英語力を向上させること

使用言語
日本語および英語の二言語を使用します。ノート作成やプレゼンテーションは英語で行うことが望ましいですが、必要に応じ日本語を使ってもかまいません。ペアワークは主に英語、グループディスカッションは日本語で行います。語学に自信がない学生も歓迎しますので、安心して参加してください。
アクティブラーニング
このコースでは、学生自身の自律的な学びを支援する、いわゆるアクティブラーニング方式を採用します。講師はほとんど講義を行わず、学生自身が各自の集めた情報についてお互いに説明しあいます。授業中は、（1）個人ワーク、（2）ペアワーク、（3）グループワークが課されます。
授業中に行う課題と作業
マインドマップやリサーチノートの作成、ミニプレゼンテーションなど。いずれにおいても学生が主体となって作業します。
リサーチ資料
講師が授業中に、またはオンライン上で参考資料を提示します。あるいは、学生が自分自身で資料を用意することも可能です。
