1. Students will learn basic knowledges and methods about a reginal culture and history, through the area studies based on fieldwork.
2. In this course, focused on mountain religions in Japan as case studies, students will understand cultural and historical diversities.
Why do people visit sacred places?
Across Japan, there are many temples, shrines, and sacred mountains, regarded as sacred places and sought out as pilgrimage destinations.
In this course, through documentary films and other visual materials, students will learn various secred pilgrimages and examine local culture from the perspective of the host side and the guest side.

1. フィールドワークによる地域研究へのアプローチを通して、地域の文化と歴史に関する基本的な知識と研究方法を学ぶ。

なぜ人は聖地に足を運ぶのか。
日本各地には多くの寺社や霊山があり、それらは聖地として巡礼の目的地となっている。本講義では、映像資料を視聴しながら日本の様々な聖地巡礼を知り、巡礼をする人たち、巡礼を迎える人たちという視点から地域文化を考える。
