The objectives of this course are (1) to have a general understanding of the structure, content, concepts, and themes of the Bible, (2) to consider the content of the Bible in relation to humanity from various perspectives through its later use and interpretation, and (3) to demonstrate what has been learned through homework, quizzes, and an exam.
From history, ideology, law, and politics, to customs, literature, language, popular culture, we encounter the influence of the Bible in daily life more than we realize. Nevertheless, beginning to gain a basic comprehensive knowledge of the Bible and its content may be difficult both for those reading the Bible for the first time, as well as those who have read parts of the Bible individually or in church without a grasp of its entirety. This course will (1) survey the basic structure, content, concepts, and themes of the Bible and (2) encourage considering the content and the influence of the Bible in relation to humanity from various perspectives. It will also include some basic introduction to varieties and methods of academic biblical studies research.

多彩な学び科目
この授業科目の目標は（1）聖書の構成、内容、概念、テーマを基本的かつ総合的に理解し、（2）後の使用や解釈を通して聖書の内容と人間との関係を多面的に考え、そして(3)得た知識を課題、小テスト、筆記試験によって示すことである。

歴史、思想、法律、政治から風習、文学、言語、ポップカルチャーまで、日々の生活の中で気づいたより聖書の影響に遭遇する。それでも、聖書を始めて読もうとする人にとっても、個人的または教会で聖書を部分的に読んだことがある人にとっても、聖書とその内容に関する基本かつ総合的な知識を得るのが困難かもしれない。本科目は（１）聖書の基本的構成、内容、概念、テーマを概要し、（２）人間との関係という視点から聖書の内容とその影響を多面的に考えるように促す。聖書学研究の種類や方法も基礎的に紹介する。
