The goal of this course is to enable students to discuss, from various perspectives and across generations, the role that the Japanese language plays in academia and other fields.
Discussions about the Japanese language have a long history, but all activities using Japanese are included. Specifically, we will invite guest speakers who are professionals deeply involved with the Japanese language. Through these discussions, students will deepen their understanding of the interdisciplinary breadth of Japanese language and Japanese linguistics, as well as their connection to real-world applications, incorporating their own experiences.
The participants in this course will include students from all faculties and students from Rikkyo Second Stage University. Students will be divided into several groups, each including at least one senior student. Discussions will be conducted based on predetermined themes, following basic rules:
Everyone can speak freely as long as they do not hurt others.
All participants are equal, regardless of their faculty affiliation or age.
Do not express opinions that deny others' statements. Instead, ask questions to draw out their opinions and be open to accepting different viewpoints.
By conducting discussions based on these rules, one of the goals is to understand generational differences, comprehend and respect the interests of different generations.
Plans are to invite guest speakers such as a “theater facilitator,” a “dictionary editor,” a “book/magazine/web article editor/writer,” a “proofreader,” and an “educational philosopher.”

多彩な学び
「日本語」というものが、学問やその他の世界でどのような役割を果たしている言語であるのか？ということを、様々な角度から世代を超えて議論できるようになることが本授業の目標である。
The goal of this course is to enable students to discuss, from various perspectives and across generations, the role that the Japanese language plays in academia and other fields.
日本語に関する議論は古くからあるが、日本語を用いた活動はすべて対象である。具体的に日本語と深く関わる職業の方をゲスト・スピーカーとしてお呼びすることで、日本語および日本語学の学際的な広がりや実社会との関わりについて、受講生が（自らの経験を盛り込みながら）議論を通じて理解を深めていくことになる。
本授業の履修者は全学部の学生とシニア世代の立教セカンドステージ大学受講生である。所定のテーマに沿って意見交換を行うが、意見交換には基本ルールがある。
1．誰もが他者を傷つけない限り自由に何でも話せること。
2．所属学部年齢の違いにかかわらず全員が平等であること。
3．他者の発言を否定する意見を言わない。むしろ、質問して意見を引き出してあげる。自分と違う意見を受け止め引き受ける姿勢を持つこと。
以上である。ルールに基づく意見交換を進めることによって、世代の違いを理解し、互いの世代の利害を理解し、尊重することができるようになることも目標の一つである。
ゲストスピーカーには「演劇ファシリテーター」「辞書編集」「書籍・雑誌・ウエブ記事編集／ライター」「校閲」「教育哲学」といった方を予定している。
