Students will gain an understanding of the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict, providing them with insights into a crucial aspect of international politics and its implications for world peace.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is often regarded as one of the most challenging issues to resolve globally. In 2023, tens of thousands of innocent civilians, with half of them being children, fell victim to Israeli bombardment in Gaza, resulting in the displacement of 1.9 million people. It's crucial to note that these large-scale airstrikes did not emerge suddenly in 2023.
Over the past 75 years, Palestinians have grappled with dispossession and occupation, prompting a fundamental question: Why has the problem persisted without resolution?
The lecturer aims to provide students with an opportunity to explore war, religion, justice, peace, and international politics from multiple perspectives, unraveling the intricate historical backgrounds that have shaped this enduring conflict.
She served as a staff member for an international cooperation NGO in the Palestinian territories from August 2012 to February 2017. During this time, she implemented health projects for children in Gaza and the West Bank while residing in East Jerusalem. Currently, she is dedicated to humanitarian projects in Gaza as a member of another international NGO. With more than 100 visits to Gaza, her firsthand experience offers valuable insights. パレスチナ問題を理解すること。そこから、国際政治や平和について再考すること。
Students will gain an understanding of the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict, providing them with insights into a crucial aspect of international politics and its implications for world peace.
世界で最も解決するのが難しい紛争の一つと言われる、「パレスチナ－イスラエル問題」。2023年には、ガザへの大規模空爆が起こり、数万人もの無辜の市民が殺され、190万人もの人々が非難を余儀なくされています。しかし、こうした大規模空爆は、2023年に始まったわけではありません。75年もの間、パレスチナ人は土地を奪われ、占領されてきました。しかし何故問題が解決されないのでしょうか？
歴史的背景を紐解きながら、戦争について、宗教について、平和や正義について、国際政治について、多角的に考える機会を作りたいと思います。
講師は 2012 年 8 月～2017 年 2 月までパレスチナ自治区で国際協力 NGO 職員として活動していました。東エルサレムに住みながら、ガザ地区と西岸地区で子どものための保健事業を実施。また現在は、他の国際NGOでガザの人道支援事業などを担当しており、ガザにはこれまでに 100 回程訪れています。パレスチナ問題を知りたい方、平和、正義、宗教、政治、国際協力等に興味のある方、是非受講してみてください。
