Students will understand the diversity of contemporary French society, a truth that contradicts the general image of the country. This will form the basis of a more in-depth study of French society.
Contemporary French society consists of complex relationships among diverse people. It's not just the difference between social classes, like bourgeoisie and farmers. The presence of immigrants, refugees, and foreign territorial people who are closely linked to the history of French colonialism brings even greater complexity to French society. In this course, for students to understand such diversity, we will explain the lives of different people while using video materials. In addition, we will consider what kind of social relationships people with diverse backgrounds are trying to establish with each other. Through this study, we will develop a multilayered image of French society.

一般的イメージにおさまらない現代フランス社会の多様性を理解する。それによって、受講生がより深くフランス社会について学んでいくための基礎をつくる。
Students will understand the diversity of contemporary French society, a truth that contradicts the general image of the country. This will form the basis of a more in-depth study of French society.
現代フランスの社会は、多様な人びとのあいだの複雑な関係から成り立っている。ブルジョワジーや農民といった社会階級の違いだけではない。フランス植民地主義の歴史に深い関連をもつ移民や難民や海外領土住民の存在は、フランス社会のあり方にさらに大きな複雑さをもたらしている。この授業では、このような多様性を理解するために、映像資料を用いつつ、それぞれの人びとの生について解説を行う。さらに、多様な背景を持つ人びとがお互いにどのような社会関係を構築しようとしているかを考察する。これらを通して、重層的なフランス社会像を描き出す。
