This course is offered as part of the Rikkyo Service Learning (RSL) program. A key element emphasized in service learning is "dialogue." Dialogue is more than just conversation; it is a fundamental action involving internal reflection and external engagement with community stakeholders.This course explores the theme of peacebuilding from multiple perspectives, examining why dialogue is considered a crucial tool in peacebuilding processes.
Through practical examples of dialogue in various contexts such as post-conflict reconciliation, disaster-affected areas, and community development, this course will rediscover the essential nature and potential of dialogue. We will examine various "conflicts" in our immediate surroundings and learn about dialogue as a problem-solving tool. The course will also cover the factors that hinder effective dialogue, as well as develop the perspectives and skills necessary to become citizens capable of engaging in productive dialogue.

本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
本科目は立教サービスラーニング(RSL)科目群のひとつとして開講する。サービスラーニング科目が重視する学びの要素に「対話」がある。それは、自己との対話（省察）、現場の人々との対話など、サービスラーニングの基本動作ともいえる重要なキーワードである。
本講義では平和構築をテーマとして、「対話が大切である」という前提を多角的に考察し、なぜ平和構築において対話というツールが重視されるのかを理解する。

紛争終結後の和解や、自然災害の被災地、地域づくりにおける住民間のコミュニケーションなど、様々な場面の対話の実践例から、対話がどのような本質や可能性を持っているかを再発見する。自分の身の回りにあるさまざまな"Conflict"を見つめ、問題解決のためのツールとしての対話の可能性を学ぶ。良質な対話を妨げる要因を理解するとともに、それらを乗り越えて対話を実践できる市民になるための視座とスキルを養う。
