(1) To gain an understanding of theories of sociology, particularly regional sociology, and to deepen interest in various themes of regional society that have been discussed in sociology.
(2) To foster individual initiative and research skills through students from diverse academic fields conducting research on areas of interest to them and engaging in mutual presentations and discussions.
What is a "region (society)"? It is considered important because it is an essential stage for people's daily lives, yet it encompasses a wide range of meanings and content due to the diverse configurations of social relations and spaces centered around residential settings (Morioka, 2025). To analyze such regions, sociology, particularly sociology, has accumulated theory, and empirical research has been conducted on a variety of themes that arise in local communities.
This seminar-style course aims to equip students from a variety of academic fields with an understanding of the theory and practice of sociology of regions. In sessions 2 through 10, students will read texts that elucidate human and social activities in regions from a sociological perspective, with instructors providing written reports. The theoretical portion will also include commentary from the teacher. In session 11, the teacher will introduce research on sociology. In sessions 12 through 14, students will take turns researching and reporting on a region of interest, followed by a group discussion. Through these courses, students will be able to apply their individual concerns to their specialized learning.

第2回～第10回の文献講読では、担当者がレジュメを作成して報告する。担当者以外も文献を読んでいることを前提に授業を行うため、履修者全員が事前にテキストの該当箇所を熟読していることが必須である。
また第12回～第14回の各自の研究報告では、担当者が資料を作成し、担当者以外もその資料に事前に目を通しておく必要がある。
これらの授業時間外学修として、1週あたり約4時間を要する。

多彩な学び科目
(1) 社会学とりわけ地域社会学の理論を理解するとともに、社会学で議論されてきた地域社会の諸テーマに対する関心を深める。
(2) 多様な学問分野の履修者が、関心のある地域について調べて相互に報告・議論を行うことで、それぞれの主体性や調査力を養う。

「地域（社会）」とは何だろうか。それは人々の日常生活にとって不可欠な舞台であるため重要とみなされると同時に、居住を軸にした社会関係と空間が多様な構成をとっているため多様な意味内容を包み込むものである（森岡編 2025）。こうした地域社会を分析するため、社会学とりわけ地域社会学の理論が蓄積されるとともに、地域社会で発生する様々なテーマをめぐって実証的な研究が展開されてきた。
本授業では多様な学問分野の履修者を対象に、ゼミナール形式で地域の社会学の理論とテーマを習得してもらうことを目指す。授業の第2回～第10回では、地域における人間・社会の営みを社会学の視角から解明したテキストを、担当者にレジュメで報告してもらいながら講読する。なお理論編については、担当教員による解説も加える。第11回では、担当教員による地域社会学の研究紹介を行う。そして授業の第12回～第14回では、各履修者に関心のある地域について調べて順番に報告してもらい、それについて全員で議論する。これらを通して、各自の問題意識を専門的な学びに応用できるようになることを目指す。
