The learning goals of this course are as follows:
1)Students will be able to explain the basic concepts and viewpoints of cultural anthropology to others.
2)Students will develop the ability to understand the complex and diverse issues of contemporary society and express their ideas in words.
3)Through case studies from Southeast Asia, students will be able to look at their own “common sense” from a new and more flexible perspective.
Cultural anthropology is not a subject that studies strange customs in foreign countries. Rather, it is a field of study that aims to help people rethink their own common sense and broaden their perspectives by learning about other cultures. In this course, students will learn the basic viewpoints of cultural anthropology through various case studies from Southeast Asia, a region that has strong historical and economic connections with Japan.The course will be conducted through group presentations and class discussions.

本授業の到達目標は以下の通りである。
1)文化人類学の基本的な概念や視座について、人に説明できるようになること。
2)複雑で多様な現代社会の諸問題を読み解く力を身につけ、それを言語化できるようになること。
3)東南アジアの事例を通して、私たちが生きてきた「あたりまえ」を相対化して捉えられるようになること。

文化人類学は、海外の奇妙な風習を学ぶ学問ではなく、他者の文化を学ぶことを通して自らの常識を相対化し、視野を切り開いていくことを目指す学問である。本授業では、日本と歴史的・経済的に深い関係をもつ東南アジアの多様な事例から、文化人類学の基本的な視野を習得する。授業は、担当グループによる報告内容を踏まえて、全員で内容の検討および課題に関するディスカッションを行う形式で進める。
