The goal is to develop an interest in and insight into the target region, and through the actual production of publications based on "travel writing," to foster attachment to the region and an awareness that travel writing can contribute to society.
The program will provide an opportunity for students to write travel writing, to provide a forum for intellectual stimulation and to become aware of the different perspectives of others. In addition, by actually producing a publication, participants will be able to experience the process from planning to writing and editing.
Guest speakers will include an editorial producer of travel books and an expert in travel writing, who will give lectures on publication intentions, planning methods, magazine structure, interviewing methods, points to keep in mind when writing and editing travel writing.

多彩な学び
本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
「トラベルライティング」をベースとし、対象とする地域へ関心を持ち、洞察を深め、出版物を実際に制作することにより、地域への愛着の醸成やトラベルライティングが社会貢献につながるという認識を高めることを目標とする。

トラベルライティングを執筆し、知的刺激を与えあう場や他者との異なる視点に気づく場を設ける。また、実際に出版物を制作することにより、企画立案から執筆、編集までの過程を体験できるようにする。
ゲストスピーカーとして、旅行図書の編集プロデューサーやトラベルライティングの専門家を招請し、出版の意図や企画立案の方法、誌面構成の検討や取材方法、トラベルライティング執筆の注意点、編集の際の留意点等についても講義を行う。
