The concept of "community" has a wide range, from real things such as regions and communities where human life activities exist, to connections without human activities and gatherings on the Internet. While looking at various forms of communities, I will think about the interesting characteristics and problems of their characteristics. Furthermore, by setting a perspective and exploring the community to which you belong, you can reconsider your own life.
After many years as a social worker in hospital, I rented an old private house in Rikuzentakata City after the 2012 Great East Japan Earthquake, took a one-year research leave, and lived there while continuing my activities. Living in the middle of a disaster area was an experience similar to a settlement. However, Rikuzentakata was not only a tragic disaster area, but also an attractive and livable community rich in social capital. I would like to mainly introduce the characteristics of the community in Rikuzentakata. I would also like to think about online communities that have nothing to do with human activities. Considering the number of students and the amount of time available, I would like to consider asking them to research and present the communities in which they live.

コミュニティという概念は、地域や共同体という人間の生活の営みがそこにあるリアルなものから、人間の営みのないつながりであったり、ネット上の集りなど広がりを持っている。様々な形態のコミュニティをみながら、その特徴の面白さや問題を考えてみる。さらに、自分が属するコミュニティについて視点を定めて探索してみることで、自身の生活を捉え直してみることができる。

長年相談援助の専門家をしていたが、2012年東日本大震災後の陸前高田市内の古民家を借り、Ⅰ年間研究休暇を取得してそこに住みながら活動をした。被災地の直中に住むことは、セツルメントに似た体験であった。しかし陸前高田は、悲惨な被災地だけではなく、社会関係資本が豊かで住みやすく魅力のあるコミュニティであった。主に陸前高田でのコミュニティの特徴を紹介していきたい。また、人の営みとは関係のないネット上のコミュニティなどについても考えてみたい。受講生の人数や時間をみて、受講生が住むコミュニティについて調べて発表してもらうことも考えたい。
