The aim of the course is for each student to broaden their view of universities and reflect on their own student life.
The objectives are as follows:
1) Students will understand the past and current situation of university education and become able to express opinions on the topic.
2) Students will become able to express their thoughts about how they have related to university education in the past and how they will relate to it in the future.
Students will learn about the history and current situation of universities, and the social situation behind them, focusing on educational functions and student life. In the process, students will have an opportunity to reflect on their own campus life as appropriate.
The method of the course will be as follows:
1) Classes will be composed of lectures, video viewing, group work, and discussions, etc.
2) We will emphasize dialog among class participants (talking, listening, reading, and writing).
3) We will consider the number of students, and if possible, create opportunities for group presentations.

些細なことでも、現在学んでいる大学という場に関心や問題意識がある方、またこのシラバスを読んで少しでも興味がわいてきた方であれば是非履修して下さい。ディスカッション、グループワークを適宜はさみますので、人の意見を聞くこと、自分の意見を伝えること、それらのやりとりの中で考えを深めていくこと、そういうことが好きな人、取り組みたい人に向いていると思います。
グループ発表の準備ではPCがあるとよいですが毎回必携というわけではありません。
通常の講義の合間にも、適宜グループディスカッションを行います。
グループ発表は、担当教員が編成したグループに分かれて進めてもらいます。一人ひとりの積極的・協力的な参加を期待します。

多彩な学び
個々の学生が大学観を広げ、それをもとに自分自身の学生生活について省察することを目的とします。
到達目標は次の通りです。
①大学教育が置かれた過去および現在の状況を理解し、それに対する意見を述べることができる。
②大学教育と自身のこれまでの関わり方およびこれからの関わり方について、考えを述べることができる。

教育機能と学生生活を中心に、大学の歴史と現状、およびそれらの背後にある／あった社会の状況について学習します。またその過程で、履修者が自身の学生生活について省察する機会を適宜設けます。
