This lecture will explore the development of lookism and the beauty industry in South Korea. Through this study, the aim is to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary South Korean society.
The class will primarily be conducted in a lecture format. In the lectures, special focus will be placed on the beauty practices and bodies of South Korean men, exploring how these intersect with and change through economic, social, cultural, and gender factors. Additionally, we will deepen our understanding of contemporary societal issues through the analysis of visual media.Please note that the course schedule is subject to change.

多彩な学び科目
本講義は、韓国のルッキズムや美容産業の発展がどのように展開されていったのかを学びます。その学習を通して、現代韓国社会についての理解を目指します。
This lecture will explore the development of lookism and the beauty industry in South Korea. Through this study, the aim is to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary South Korean society.
授業は主として講義形式でおこないます。講義のなかではとりわけ、韓国男性の美容実践や身体に焦点を当て、経済・社会・文化・ジェンダーとどのように交差しながら変化しているのかを探求します。また、映像作品を通じて現代社会が抱える問題について理解を深めます。なお、授業計画は変更される可能性があります。
