【Course Objectives】

Learn the methods of historical analysis and consideration. Understand the role of merchants/entrepreneurs for the ecoomic development.

【Course Contents】

How society and economy develop? In this seminar, we consider and analyze this subject from the historical approaches. A special focus is put on the role of merchants/entrepreneuers. They procure products people demand, connect and integrate all parts of the world, create innovation in various economic sectors.
Participants will build pairs or gounps, set the object of research, collect and analyze the relevant literature, materials and sources, present their research, discuss each other, and write the final report.
The main research field of the instructure is Europe, but students can choice their target merchants/entrepreneurs not only from Europe, but also from Japan, other Asian countries, America, etc.
