To develop a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the situation facing the politics and economics of the emerging Asian region, based on up-to-date texts. To develop one's own views on the future of Asia and the world, including Japan, based on this. To develop the ability to summarise the content of texts, conduct research activities related to texts and give presentations to express their views.
The politics and economies of Asian countries are undergoing dramatic changes, and the old view of Asia as nations chasing Japan is no longer entirely valid. To understand this situation, it is necessary to rely on research that takes into account the latest trends, such as technological change. In this seminar, all participants will first share accurate knowledge of Asian politics and economics by understanding texts written by young, highly qualified authors who are familiar with the latest developments in Asian politics and economics, based on summaries provided by designated summarisers. Then, based on this, we will discuss how Japan should deal with Asia.

アジア新興地域の政治と経済が直面している状況について、最新のテキストに基づいて包括的に理解し、知識をつけること。それに基づいて、日本を含むアジアと世界の未来を展望する自身の見解を構築すること。テキストの内容を要約したり、テキストに関連する研究活動を行ったり、プレゼンテーションを行って意見を表明したりする能力を身につけること。

アジア各国の政治と経済は目覚ましい変化を遂げており、最早かつての、先行する日本を追いかけるアジアという見方は完全に通用しなくなっています。この情勢を理解するためには、テクノロジーの変化など、最新の動向を踏まえた研究に依拠する必要があります。本ゼミナールでは、アジアの政治・経済の最新状況に詳しい、若くて優秀な執筆者を迎えたテキストを、指定された要約担当者による要約を踏まえて全員で理解し、まずアジアの政治・経済の正確な知識を共有します。続いて、それを踏まえて、日本のアジアとの向き合い方について議論します。
