【Course Objectives】

This course aims at helping students to obtain basic understandings on ecological economics, sustainability, planetary boundaries, and wellbeing. Students will familiarize themselves with critical thinking and interdisciplinary discussions, and will learn, through conversations with guest speakers, frameworks and approaches to implement sustainable wellbeing in society.

【Course Contents】

The course consists of lectures, discussions, conversations with guest speakers, and students’ individual/group presentations. The lectures cover basics of ecological economics, sustainability, planetary boundaries, and wellbeing. Students will learn, through conversations with guest speakers, practical examples, possibilities and challenges in implementing sustainable wellbeing in society.

The course will be conducted in English. Though no specific test scores (English proficiency scores) are asked for, please refer to the following descriptions and test score examples in deciding your registration. There will be lectures, small group discussions, meetings for group tasks, and presentations of tasks in English.
