備考/ NotesNotes |
Students explore how “knowledge” is created, disseminated, and replicated in society for the following objectives:
a)To gain a deeper insight into what constitutes knowledge,
b)To learn how it impacts our perspectives, beliefs, and values, and
c)To understand the limitations of knowledge making processes
In this project-based course, students will learn about one epistemological orientation (i.e., positivism) and conduct a hands-on quantitative study (i.e., survey research). To experience knowledge making processes and understand its limitations, students will study basic principles of survey research, choose a research topic, initiate a survey, collect and analyze data, and present results.
