Notes

【Course Objectives】

This course explains how global governance has grown and how it works today. It focuses on the United Nations and its work with other international organizations, governments, companies, and civil society. Using real examples, it looks at three main areas: international security, human rights, and the UN’s role in managing shared global resources (the global commons).

【Course Contents】

Through practical examples, this course shows what global governance is for and how it works today, focusing mainly on the United Nations. Students should learn how the global governance system functions and, using case studies, judge where global institutions succeed or fail and suggest suitable ways to improve them.
