The works are also presented in the context of the author's background and the creation of the work. This deepens understanding of and interest in the literature of the German-speaking areas.
Through reading plays, students will learn about the history and culture of the German-speaking areas.
Students will learn about the theater culture, which is different from that of Japan.
This course introduces modern and contemporary German-language literary works (plays) and provides an overview of the poet's life, the circumstances and historical context in which the works were written, and the content of the works.

本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
・ただ作品を読むだけでなく、詩人（作家）や作品の成立背景も踏まえた上で作品に触れることで、ドイツ語圏の文学への理解と関心を深める。
・ドイツ語圏の演劇作品を実際に読み、ドイツ語圏の歴史や文化の一端に触れる。
・日本とは異なる劇場のあり方や演劇文化について知る。

・近現代のドイツ語圏の文学作品（戯曲）を取り上げ、詩人の生涯や作品の成立事情および時代背景、作品の内容等について概説する。
