This class is aimed to study the course of ancient art by understanding Egyptian, Greek and Roman art history focused especially on the relationship between Art and Power.
Emperors, Kings and Popes created many art works and Architectures. Egyptian Pharaohs built Pyramids and Pericles built the Parthenon. In this class, students are encouraged to study Egyptian, Greek and Roman art works focused especially on the relationship between Art and Power.

権力との関係を踏まえて各時代の美術の特徴を把握することで、西洋古代美術史の流れを掴むことを目標とする。
This class is aimed to study the course of ancient art by understanding Egyptian, Greek and Roman art history focused especially on the relationship between Art and Power.
王や皇帝、教皇などの権力者は様々な美術作例や建築を創り上げてきた。エジプトの王ファラオはピラミッドを、古代ギリシアの政治家ペリクレスはパルテノン神殿を建設した。この講義では、単に美術作品を網羅的に見ていくのではなく、美術と権力との関わりに焦点を当てながら、古代エジプトから古代ギリシア、古代ローマにおいて制作された作品を考えてみたい。
