For us, the existence of the "body" can be a universal theme as a human being. From ancient Greece to the present, this has been explored in a variety of areas, including philosophy.
In this course, we will focus on "sports" as a cultural complex that expresses the human body. Mega sports events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics can no longer be ignored in the field of international politics and economics. "Sports" can be considered to be essential to us.
By approaching "sports" as a cultural study subject, we will interpret "sports" that we have casually played and watched using historical and cultural anthropological methods.
By taking this course, students will broaden their historical perspective on various events.
In this course, we will access various events related to sports from cultural anthropological and historical perspectives. As we will also deal with current issues, shifts in the international situation may change the course content.

我々にとって，「身体」「からだ」の存在は，人間である以上普遍的なテーマとなりえます。古代ギリシャから現代に至るまで，哲学をはじめ様々な分野でこれらが探求され続けています。この授業では，人間の生身の「身体」を表現する文化複合体として「スポーツ」に注目します。FIFA W杯，オリンピック，パラリンピックなどメガスポーツイベントは，もはや国際政治・経済の分野においても無視することはできません。「スポーツ」は，我々にとってもはや必要不可欠な存在ともいえます。文化論的学問対象として「スポーツ」に接近することにより，何気なく行ってきた，見てきた「スポーツ」を歴史学的，文化人類学的手法で解釈していきます。本授業を受講することによって，様々な事象に対する歴史的視野を広げることができます。
