Students will learn the basic properties of integers and learn how to use them in everyday life.
Integers are familiar numbers, have various properties, and are mathematical objects that are being studied from several aspects even today. In this course, we will focus on integer division and remainders, and explain some of the properties of prime numbers. As an application, we will introduce the basic principles of cryptographic technology that is essential in the internet society.

整数は身近な数でありながら様々な性質を持ち、現在でもいくつもの側面から研究が進められている数学的な対象である。この授業では、整数の割り算とその余りに注目して、素数の持ついくつかの性質について解説する。応用として、インターネット社会に不可欠な暗号技術の基本原理を紹介する。
