Develop an understanding of environmental issues grounded in scientific knowledge and cultivate interdisciplinary perspectives to examine these issues through consideration of the relationship between science and society.
Students will study environmental issues in natural environments and human societies, focusing on the scientific analysis of phenomena and their underlying mechanisms, as well as the development and evaluation of potential countermeasures. In addition, students will evaluate and discuss, from multidisciplinary perspectives, the challenges and possible improvements associated with each environmental issue and related initiatives, regardless of academic background, thereby developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The course will examine specific case studies, including environmental pollution caused by insecticides, issues faced by local communities experiencing population decline, and challenges associated with the introduction of renewable energy.

環境問題を科学的知見に基づいて理解するとともに、科学と社会の関係を踏まえ、分野横断的に課題を考察する姿勢を身につける。
Develop an understanding of environmental issues grounded in scientific knowledge and cultivate interdisciplinary perspectives to examine these issues through consideration of the relationship between science and society.
実際の自然環境や人間社会で生じている環境問題を題材に、現象の解明やメカニズムの探究、ならびに対応策の開発・検討といった取り組みを、科学的知見に基づいて学ぶ。さらに、各環境問題およびそれに関連する取り組みが抱える課題や改善点について、文理を問わない多面的な視点から評価・考察し、課題解決に向けた思考力を養う。本講義では、殺虫剤による環境汚染、人口減少が進む地域社会の問題、再生可能エネルギー導入に伴う課題などを具体的な事例として取り上げる。
