Try to explore and understand what political, social, and technical conditions and relationships between the sender and receiver of the culture of Hip Hop, which tends to be stereotyped, was born and is enjoyed and consumed. In particular, we examine rapping and DJ-ing, and street art/graffiti as our subject matter. Some of the texts used will be in English, and students will require English skills up to the compulsory education level.
We try to explore and examine the history and possibility of some aspects of Hip Hop which is a cultural, political, and social phenomenon/a form of art in the classroom, therefore we refer to visual/sonic footage from archives while trying to learn the historical background and understand its meanings to present day.

紋切り型で形容されがちなヒップホップという文化が、実際にはどのような政治的／社会的／技術的な条件や、送り手と受け手の関係のありようのなかで生まれていき、享受・消費されているかを探り、理解するようにつとめる。特にラップとDJが、その関連のなかでのストリート・アート／グラフィティ、（ストリート）ファッションをその題材としてとりあげる。使用するテキストは英語のものもあり、義務教育程度の英語の力を要する。

ストリートでの出来事であるヒップホップの歴史を学び、文化的・政治的・社会的側面の可能性について教室内で扱い吟味していくので、アーカイブからの多くの動画や音楽を視聴することになる。またヒップホップそれ自体だけでなく、その歴史的・社会的な背景を理解し、今日的に何を意味しているのかを学ぼうとする。
