Through studying the lives, works, and thoughts of various representative theologians in ancient Christian history, students will come to understand what was Christianity at that time.
In this course, we will introduce the lives, works, and thoughts of five representative theologians from the 2nd to the 5th century. We will also clarify each theologian’s opinions and understandings regarding important topics of the era, such as Christology and the Trinity doctrine, comparing and contrasting each theologian’s views.

学びの精神科目
古代キリスト教史において代表的な思想家の生涯、著作、思想を学ぶことによってこの時代におけるキリスト教の歩みがどのようなものかを理解する。
Through studying the lives, works, and thoughts of various representative theologians in ancient Christian history, students will come to understand what was Christianity at that time.
２世紀から５世紀までの時代において、代表的な５人のキリスト教思想家の生涯、著作、思想を紹介する。またこの時代のキリスト教思想において重要なテーマであるキリスト論、三位一体論について、思想家それぞれの理解の特色を明らかにし、相互に比較する。
In this course, we will introduce the lives, works, and thoughts of five representative theologians from the 2nd to the 5th century.
