This course will provide students with basic knowledge of Christian art in churches throughout Italy, including saints and biblical themes, and will also explore how Christianity has been expressed in art through a study of Christian iconography and a comparison of biblical texts and artistic expressions.
This course will focus on Christian art found in churches throughout Italy, including Rome and Venice. Focusing on the iconography of saints and biblical themes, the course will examine the similarities and differences between the biblical text and artworks, and the reasons for them, based on a basic understanding of the subject. The course will focus on works from the Middle Ages, but will also compare them with works from early Christianity and the early Renaissance in order to deepen historical understanding.

本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
イタリアの聖堂美術キリスト教美術の基本的な知識を得る。さらに図像学や聖書のテキストとの比較により、キリスト教が美術の中でどのように表現されてきたのかを学ぶ。

ローマなどのイタリアの聖堂にあるキリスト教美術を講義する。聖人図像や聖書のテーマに焦点を当て、基本的な事柄、聖書のテキストと美術作品の表現の一致や違いを考察する。中世の作品を中心とし、歴史的な理解も深める。
