This class aims to enable students to think radically about the relationship between the human mind and body through reading cross-disciplinary literature on expertise.
A variety of disciplines study expertise (or, knowing-how) because it is a fundamental issues for human beings as both intellectual and corporeal existence. In recent years, AI and robots have become able to do things that have been thought to be unique to humans. Under these circumstances, it became easy to understand that expertise is a mystery related to the definition of humanity itself. From this point of view, in this class, I would like to think about the human mind and body together with you through the mystery of expertise.

この授業では、学生が技能知（knowing how）あるいは熟練（expertise）についての文献を分野横断的に読むことを通じて、人間の心と体の関わりをラジカルに考えることができるようになることを目指します。
This class aims to enable students to think radically about the relationship between the human mind and body through reading cross-disciplinary literature on expertise.
なぜ、あの人はあんなに上手にできるのだろうか？どうしたら自分にもああいうふうにできるのだろうか？そんなふうに思ったことはありませんか。
人がなにかを上手にできるようになることのうちには、多くの謎が含まれていて、哲学、教育学、認知科学、人類学、運動科学、ロボティクス、経営学など、さまざまな学問がこれを探求しています。日本では600年も昔に世阿弥がいくつもの秘伝書において、まさに「上手いとはなにか」を論じました。
なぜ「上手い」ということが（あるいは「上手くいかない」ということが）、古今東西、文理も超えて、重要な思考課題となるのでしょうか。もちろん、誰でも何がしかの分野で行為をして生きている以上、その行為を上手にやり遂げたいのは当然です。しかしそれだけでは、「いかに上手くやるか」という問いは立ち上がっても、「上手いとはなにか」という問いは立ち上がらないはずです。
「上手い」は、単にあれこれが技術的にできる／できないの問題ではなく、身体を備えた知的存在としての人間の根本に関わる問題なのです。近年、AIやロボットが人間ならではの行為と思われてきたことを上手くできるようになっています。こうした状況のもとで、上手くできることは「どこからが人間か」という人間性そのものの定義に関わる謎であるということが、わかりやすく浮かび上がってきました。こうした観点から、この授業では「上手い」を通じて人間の心と体について皆さんと一緒に考えていきたいと思います。
