Notes 本科目は、実技だけでなく、授業全体の約3分の1を講義で実施し、スポーツへの理解を深める。

【Course Objectives】

By the end of the course, students should be able to achieve the followings in recreational sports:
1) Explain how we can enjoy recreational sport by interacting with others in fair and safe environment,
2) Create session plans where objectives match up against proposed practice tasks, leader interventions and expected student engagement, and
3) Prepare, deliver planned sessions, followed by reflective assessments.

【Course Contents】

All instructions for this course will be provided in English, and students will be encouraged to communicate in English at all times. The course content is designed to guide students becoming leaders in the recreational sports.

【注意事項 / Notice】

1. Unless otherwise directed by the instructor in charge, change of clothing should be done in the locker rooms of the Paul Rusch Athletics Center (Ikebukuro Campus) / Niiza Gymnasium (Niiza Campus). Practical training will start from the first lesson, so please prepare clothes and shoes appropriate for exercise and attend the class. Dedicated shoes should be prepared for classes held in indoor facilities.

2. As the place of the training may differ from the usual place depending on the weather, etc., confirm the location on the bulletin board at the entrance of the Paul Rusch Athletics Center (Ikebukuro Campus) / the entrance of the gymnasium (Niiza Campus) before the class regardless of whether it is held indoor or outdoor.

3. Be sure to have an annual health checkup in April of the current academic year.
 *After the health checkup, the Health Center will stamp a “済” seal (a seal that certifies that the health checkup has been taken) on your student commuter pass certificate. Show that when you attend the first class.
 *If you have yet not taken an annual health checkup, please check the Additional Health Checkup page of the Health Center and take actions as soon as possible, as it will hinder your participation in class.

4. Take care to avoid injuries and accidents during practical training and follow any instructions given by the instructor.
