The objective of this course is for students to learn the fundamental skills, rules and etiquette to enjoy golf as a lifelong sport.
In the lectures, students will use visual media such as PowerPoint to learn about golf terminology, how to swing a golf club efficiently, the different types of clubs and their characteristics, and the different types of shots. In addition, towards the end of the course, students will learn how to use golf clubs and driving ranges, as well as what to consider when playing on a real golf course, to deepen their understanding of the fundamentals of golf.
In the practical lessons, students will learn how to swing a golf club and hit a ball using real clubs. They will also learn how to play a round of golf, keep score, and learn about golf etiquette and manners through mock rounds on a hypothetical course, laying the foundation for them to become independent golfers.

・授業形態:「対面」
1．担当教員より特別の指示のない限り，更衣はポール・ラッシュ・アスレチックセンター（池袋キャンパス）/ 新座体育館（新座キャンパス）の更衣室で行うこと。なお，第1回目の授業より実習が始まるので，運動ができる服装・靴を準備し，授業に出席すること。屋内施設で行う授業は専用シューズを用意すること。
2．天候等により通常の実施場所とは異なる場合があるため，屋内・屋外科目に関わらず，授業前にポール・ラッシュ・アスレチックセンター入口（池袋キャンパス）/体育館入口（新座キャンパス）の掲示板で実施場所を確認すること。
3．当年度の4月に行われる定期健康診断を必ず受診しておくこと。
※健康診断を受診すると，保健室にて通学定期乗車券発行控に「済」印（健康診断が受診済みであることを証明する印）が押されるため，それを初回授業時に提示すること。
※定期健康診断を未受診の場合は，授業参加に支障をきたすため，早急に保健室の「追加の健康診断について」のページを確認して対応すること。
4. 実習中の怪我や事故には充分注意し、担当教員から指示がある場合は、それに従い行動すること。
・Class format: Face-to-face
1. Unless otherwise directed by the instructor in charge, change of clothing should be done in the locker rooms of the Paul Rusch Athletics Center (Ikebukuro Campus) / Niiza Gymnasium (Niiza Campus). Practical training will start from the first lesson, so please prepare clothes and shoes appropriate for exercise and attend the class. Dedicated shoes should be prepared for classes held in indoor facilities.
2. As the place of the training may differ from the usual place depending on the weather, etc., confirm the location on the bulletin board at the entrance of the Paul Rusch Athletics Center (Ikebukuro Campus) / the entrance of the gymnasium (Niiza Campus) before the class regardless of whether it is held indoor or outdoor.
3. Be sure to have an annual health checkup in April of the current academic year.
*After the health checkup, the Health Center will stamp a “済” seal (a seal that certifies that the health checkup has been taken) on your student commuter pass certificate. Show that when you attend the first class.
*If you have yet not taken an annual health checkup, please check the Additional Health Checkup page of the Health Center and take actions as soon as possible, as it will hinder your participation in class.
4. Take care to avoid injuries and accidents during practical training and follow any instructions given by the instructor.
本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
この授業では、生涯スポーツとしてゴルフを楽しむための基礎的な技術、ルールおよびマナーを習得することを目標とする。

講義では、学生はパワーポイントによる映像媒体を用いて、ゴルフのおける用語の説明、効率的なゴルフスイング方法、クラブの種類と特性、ショットの種類について学習する。また、授業終盤では、実際のゴルフ場でのプレー想定し、ゴルフ倶楽部およびゴルフ練習場を利用方法や注意点について学習し、ゴルフに関する基礎的知識の理解を深める。
実技では、学生は実際のクラブを使用してゴルフスイング、ボールを打つ技術を身につける。また、仮説コースでの模擬ラウンドを通じて、ゴルフコースの回り方、スコアのつけ方、マナーおよびエチケットについて学習し、自立的にゴルフファーとなるための基礎を構築する。
