プレイスメントテストでJ0-J3Sレベルにプレイスされた学生（がくせい）を対象（たいしょう）とし、授業（じゅぎょう）は英語（えいご）で行（おこな）われる。日本(にほん)の社会的(しゃかいてき)・歴史的(れきしてき)背景(はいけい)や事例(じれい)を日本語(にほんご)の言葉(ことば)や表現(ひょうげん)とともに学(まな)び, 日本語(にほんご)および日本(にほん)社会(しゃかい)への理解(りかい)を深(ふか)めることを目的(もくてき)とする。
This class is targeted for the students who are placed into J0-J3S level in the Placement test and this class is held in English. The purpose of this class is to deepen your understanding of Japanese language and society by learning the social and historical backgrounds /examples as well as Japanese words and expressions.
日本語(にほんご)の語彙(ごい)や表記(ひょうき),慣用(かんよう)表現(ひょうげん)などについて,その背景(はいけい)にある社会的(しゃかいてき)・歴史的(れきしてき)なことがらに触(ふ)れながら学(まな)んでいく。授業(じゅぎょう)は英語(えいご)と簡単(かんたん)な日本語(にほんご)で行(おこな)われる。講義(こうぎ)も行(おこな)うが,学生(がくせい)同士(どうし)のディスカッションや調査(ちょうさ)，発表（はっぴょう）なども頻繁（ひんぱん）に行(おこな)うため,積極的(せっきょくてき)な参加(さんか)が望(のぞ)まれる。
Students will be able to learn about the vocabulary, spelling, and idioms of the Japanese language while referring to the social and historical context. The class is taught in English and simple Japanese. Though lectures will be given, active participation is required because discussions among the students, surveys, and presentation will be frequently conducted.
