Students will read academic papers from various fields, gaining an understanding of the structure of Japanese academic papers and learning various expressions used in theses while enhancing their ability to take in information and express themselves using Japanese
Several academic papers are selected in accordance with the student’s specialization and evaluated for the composition, style, vocabulary, sentence patterns, end-of-sentence expressions, citation method, reference method, etc. common in academic papers. There will also be exercises to learn to briefly summarize content. One academic paper is read each week (homework), then lectures and discussions are held regarding the characteristics of Japanese academic papers inferred from those papers. For vocabulary and expressions unique to the academic paper, students will create their own short sentences while being presented with example sentences, etc. Additionally, students will practice how to concisely summarize what they have read with some of the academic papers.

様々な分野の学術論文を読み，日本語の学術論文の構成をつかむとともに，論文で用いられる様々な表現を理解することに重点を置きながら，日本語による受発信力をつける。
Students will read academic papers from various fields, gaining an understanding of the structure of Japanese academic papers and learning various expressions used in theses while enhancing their ability to take in information and express themselves using Japanese
参加者の専門に沿った学術論文を数編選び，「構成」「スタイル」「語彙」「文型」「文末表現」「引用の仕方」「参考文献の提示方法」などの点に留意しながら読む。また，読み取った内容を簡潔に要約する訓練も行う。
参加者の専門ごとに，学術論文を数編ずつ選び，日本語学術論文の特徴に留意しながら読む。毎週１つの論文を読み（宿題），その論文から読みとれる日本語論文の特徴について講義およびディスカッションを行う。論文独特の語彙や表現については，例文などを提示しながら短文作成を行う。さらに，いくつかの論文については要約を行い，読み取った内容を簡潔にまとめる練習も行う。
