The course aims to provide students with a fundamental ability to be active in academic areas and disciplines using the Chinese language in the future, in order that they may graduate from "learning a language" to "using a language to study their specialty. The objective is also to understand the linguistic characteristics of the Chinese language from perspectives such as "physicality, cognition, and culture," to enhance practical proficiency in Chinese.
The course is designed for students who have studied abroad or who are considering entering domestic or foreign graduate schools. The classes will use CEFR B2 level materials to develop various knowledge and skills required for communication in the Chinese academic community, and improve these skills through practical experience in the classroom. Specifically, students will learn how to research and read literature written in Chinese, write articles, ask questions in lectures and talks, and give presentations. This year, we will particularly focus on the theme of linguistics and language and culture studies.

将来、「言語を学ぶ」ことから「専門領域を言語で学ぶ」ことへ発展するために、中国語を使用して学問上の専門分野や専門領域で活躍できる力の基礎を身に付けることを目標とする。また、「身体・認知・文化」などの視点から中国語の言語特徴を理解し、中国語の運用能力を高めることも目的とする。
