【Course Objectives】

This introductory course is for students who plan to study abroad in the future and want to improve their language skills. Building on skills from mandatory English language courses and including a wide range of topics from study abroad contexts, the course focuses on developing fluency and confidence in English. Classroom tasks will help students develop the competencies needed for the IELTS test, and students will be supported in their individual study for test preparation.

【Course Contents】

Through this course, students will develop skills in:
● Planning and self-evaluation for independent IELTS study.
● Speaking about Study Abroad topics in interviews, long turns and discussions.
● Writing descriptions and explanations related to Study abroad topics.
● Reading and listening to learn about Study Abroad topics.

Learning about IELTS Test Sections, starting a learning journal

Focus skills: describing a process in writing, listening for numbers

Focus skills: describing changes over time in writing, recognizing a paraphrase in the Listening and Reading Parts

Focus skills: describing different types of data in writing, introducing your talk in Speaking Task 2

Focus skills: describing diagrams, organizing your talk in Speaking Task 2
