【Course Objectives】

Throughout this CLIL course, students will learn how to:
1.use note taking strategies to understand the main points of lectures and videos.(L)
2.discuss their ideas with classmates in response to lectures, videos or class readings. (L)
3.make speechs about the SDGs using appropriate English language vocabulary and phrases (L) and vocabulary (C)
4.write summaries and short responses to discussions, lectures, videos or class readings. (L)
5.understand the content of the sustainable development goals. (C)
6.understand the basis of the sustainable development goals and their interconnectedness (C)
7. evaluate progress made toward the SDGs in their own context

【Course Contents】

This course is designed to give students an understanding of sustainable development goals. Students will also develop their critical thinking skills by examining the social issues that led to the development of the sustainable development goals. Students will develop the academic skills necessary to understand a variety of text genres, lectures, and videos. They will also develop the communicative skills necessary to present about, discuss and write short reactions to discussions, lectures, videos and articles related to course content.

Students will regularly prepare and make mini-speeches during class time. The course involves a lot of speaking in front of a group.
