Throughout this course students will:
Identify (C) and discuss (L) SDG-related issues.
Organize (C) and explain (L) information on approaches in Japan and overseas on how to achieve the SDGs (C).
Evaluate solutions to SDG-related issues (C) using appropriate vocabulary (L).
Present proposals for how to help achieve the SDGs in Japan (C).
(L = language objective, C = content objective)
The course will provide an overview of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), how they are linked, and their current status. Students will learn about issues related to the SDGs in countries around the world and will compare and contrast them with their own experiences in Japan and overseas through discussions. Students will use critical thinking skills to propose potential solutions to SDG-related issues and to make persuasive presentations.
