By the end of this CLIL course, students will be able to:
1. Identify and explain (L)* the concerns about the extent of the current ecological challenges, their impact to the environment and human life including personal responsibility (C)*.
2. Evaluate and propose (L) solutions to current environment problems (C) through collaboration.
3. Identify arguments, nuances and implied meaning of texts and digital media (L) on current environmental issues (C).
*L = Language goal, C= Content goal
This course aims to create an awareness of and concern about ecology and its associated environmental problems, with the goal for students to discuss these issues and present possible solutions in English. Students will learn the extent of these current global ecological challenges, their impact on the environment and human life, and their personal responsibility through collaborative learning and problem solving. Students will also acquire critical thinking skills and appropriate English expressions to effectively communicate these ecological issues through discussion and presentations.

Handouts with review activities and preview activities/readings will be provided on weeks when students are not preparing for one of the three assessments.
