【Course Objectives】

This course is designed for students to develop communicative and academic language skills through studying introductory concepts in gender studies.

Students will learn vocabulary related to terms, debates, and issues in gender studies, and think critically about the role and influence of gender in society.

Students will propose solutions to problems connected with gender in modern society, through writing and presentations.

【Course Contents】

Throughout this CLIL course, students will learn how to:

1) communicate distinctions between concepts in gender and sexuality (L)
2) understand and use appropriate vocabulary for gender and sexuality (L)
3) evaluate the relevance of key concepts in gender studies (C)
4) critically appraise the impact of feminism (C)
5) argue cases and develop arguments on contemporary gender issues (L)
6) produce clear, well-structured expositions of the social influence of gender (L)
