This course is designed for students to develop communicative and academic language skills through understanding topics related to Natural Science, in particular bioscience, geoscience, and brain science. Students are expected to obtain information, ideas and opinions from scientific sources with the way of critical thinking.
Students will use general and specific contents to engage in discussions and reflect their active learning through understanding various English learning strategies (vocabulary, reading, and writing) and critical thinking skills. After each content introduction, students are expected to give a clear, systematically developed presentation, with highlighting of significant points regarding the topic related in the class and produce a report which develops an argument, giving reasons in support of or against a particular point of view explaining the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Students are expected to preview and review all the materials constantly and do an assignment every week. For each project, students are required to prepare for their presentations with peers outside of the class.
