1.To enable students to follow lectures, discussions and presentations in world history with relative ease.
2.To expand vocabulary related to world history topics and discuss the importance of world historical civilizations in English.
3.To understand a variety of texts including literary writings, newspapers, and magazine articles.
4.To foster critical thinking through the analysis and interpretation of global events.
5.To promote cross-cultural understanding by exploring the important contributions that civilizations have made to world culture and development.
This course explores world history and the interconnectedness of human history on a global scale. Students will enhance their English language skills while gaining insight into significant global historical events, cultures and individuals. They will engage with a variety of historical resources including academic articles, authentic artifacts, news, documents, and other multimedia. Students will acquire history-related vocabulary and concepts to engage in group discussions to question and evaluate the events.
