By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand key tourism concepts and communicate clearly in English.
- Explain how tourism systems work and apply theory to real-world examples.
- Research and evaluate sources to support academic discussion of tourism issues.
- Critically analyse tourism’s social, cultural, economic, and environmental impacts and propose sustainable solutions for real-world tourist destinations.
This CLIL course will introduce students to tourism, beginning with core concepts and academic language before exploring how tourism systems operate through transport, services, and destinations.
Throughout the course, students will analyse the social, economic, and environmental impacts of tourism and apply their learning to real-world contexts through guided academic tasks. They will also explore sustainable tourism models, conduct research, and design realistic proposals for improving tourism practices.
By the end of the course, students will be able to think critically about tourism and propose informed, sustainable solutions to real-world challenges in the tourism industry using academic English.

| 6 | Economic Impacts and Local Communities Students examine how tourism generates income and jobs, while also considering issues such as inequality and economic dependence. |
| 7 | Environmental Impacts and Sustainability Students explore how tourism affects natural environments and learn the basic principles of sustainable tourism. |
