【Course Objectives】

This course aims at understanding how communities in Rikuzentakata city are responding to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011, and reflecting on how their own communities can promote inclusivity, resilience, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Students will be visiting Rikuzentakata City in Iwate Prefecture which was struck by the major disaster in March 2011.
Rikkyo students will be joined by around 10 students from overseas universities: Stanford University, Hong Kong University and National University of Singapore, and work together in the field to understand the current situation of Rikuzentakata.
