This course aims to enable students to have a good command of Japanese language taking advantage of the features of Japanese sign language and effectively express their opinions and communicate their messages to people.
This is an advanced Japanese sign language class mainly targeting students who have completed the intermediate class. This class aims to enhance the ability to express opinions using sign language as well as providing insight into deaf people from multiple perspectives. Students are expected to read assigned books outside class hours to enrich their understanding of the deaf community. By using columns as reading texts, students will learn about sign language as communication and art to enrich their cross-cultural understanding. As roundup of the columns, students will advance their consideration on future outlook. To demonstrate their achievement of the class learning outcomes, students will have opportunities to practice their communication skills outside of the classroom.

アナウンスメントの確認やコメントシート提出等の為、スマホまたはPCを持参してください。
基本的に実技はネイティブサイナー（ろう者）が手話のみで指導する。チームティーチャー（聴者）が適宜通訳でフォローする。パワーポイントやDVDの読み取りなど視覚的教材を多用する。ペアワークやグループワーク、クラス内の発表などアクティブラーニングを取り入れる。
【履修目安】CEFR A1・全国手話検定試験３級合格レベル
「日本手話中級1」の単位修得済が望ましい。
手話の特徴を活用し豊かな日本手話で自分の意見を表現し，相手にきちんとメッセージを伝えるレベルを目指す。

日本手話・上級編の語学講義。主に中級編を終えた学生を対象に，手話で自分の意見を表現する力を身に付けると共にろう者について多角的に考察する。さらに、授業外に課題図書を読み進めることで、ろう者社会への理解を深める。また，コラムでは，言語としての手話・芸術について学び，異文化への理解を深め、コラムの総まとめとして将来への展望へと考察を進める。授業で学習したコミュニケーション能力は成果として発信し、授業外でも発揮する機会を設けていく。
